Glassblowing Studio

Observe the magic of glassblowing at the Glassworks Casey HylandHot Glass Studio ("the hot shop"). The process begins with a roaring 2200 F degree furnace which contains the molten glass. The hot, honey-like glass is then "gathered" up and the artisans move into action to realize their ideas. Throughout the creation of each piece they utilize age-old tools and techniques along with some modern technology to transform the hot glass into a wide variety of works of art. In the final moments, the artisans' passion combined with the intense heat of the fire provide the energy which results in the vessels, objects and sculptures of their imaginations.

Studio rental available at $30/hour, all glass and tools included.

Glassworks offers the opportunity for the public to enter the Glassblowing Studio throughout the year and blow a seasonal piece of art (ornament, pumpkin, flower, etc.). Check out our Blows and Seasonal Activities
