of Louisville Clay will be unveiled at the group’s
fourth annual sale April 4, Friday, 5 p.m. – 9 p.m.
and April 5, Saturday, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. at Glassworks
815 W. Market St.
Mission Statement: Louisville Clay (LC) is an association
of regional ceramic artists dedicated to enriching individual
creativity through a supportive community of peers and to
enhancing the understanding and appreciation of ceramic art.
Work for sale will include a wide range of processes and
techniques. Many of the artists are well known in the areas
as their work is seen at local craft show and is in local
galleries such as Pyro Gallery, Kentucky Museum of Art and
Craft, and Kentucky Artisan Center in Berea, Kentucky.
As secretary of Louisville Clay, Dolita Dohrman is very
excited about the new venue and the opportunity presented
to Louisville Clay members. “Our membership has been
growing exponentially and we want to give everyone the experience
of being able to sell and show their work. Glassworks has
presented us with a unique opportunity and has been very
generous in their support.”
Potters from the group will be demonstrating at the wheel
during this two-day event.
Page von Wheeler of Glassworks comments: "Glassworks
is honored and ecstatic to be hosting a group as remarkable
as Louisville Clay. At Glassworks, we pride ourselves on
supporting local independent artists, and making art accessible
to everyone, and we are thrilled to have the opportunity
to do the same for another medium."
