On March 22 at 8pm, Glassworks will play
host to a spectacular musical event. Bryan
Scary & the
Shredding Tears will be making their first return
to Louisville since the completion of a new album, Flight
of the Knife, to be released on April 1st, via Black and
Greene Records. The enigmatic psychedelic pop performance
of Bryan Scary & the
Shredding Tears is unlike that of any modern touring band,
drawing comparisons to Queen, the Beatles,
and ELO. No one
will want to miss what BUST Magazine calls "the best
live show [we've] ever seen.”
They will be joined by Chicago’s Ferdinand
Fox, who
have made an impression on the local scene with an energetic
stage show that blends hip hop, rock,
funk, and soul. They
were most recently seen performing at the Halfway to Forecastle
Festival. The evening will also feature performances from
Everthus
the Deadbeats and Grampall
Jookabox, both hailing from Indianapolis, and stopping by our fair city after showcase
performances at South By Southwest. The night will end with
DJ sets from local favorites A. Bell and Narwhal.
Tickets will be
available for purchase for $6 the day
of the show starting at 6:00PM. Doors will open
at 7:00PM. Glassworks is sponsoring the event.
A portion of the proceeds will go to Ohio
Valley Creative Energy, a non-profit organization
that was founded to provide a heat intensive multi-arts
facility for glass, clay, and metal artists. The center
will be built on an existing landfill in Clark County,
Indiana, with methane gas from the landfill used to power
all of the artist studios in the facility.
Weather permitting, the concert will be held on the rooftop,
otherwise it will be indoors - so come rain or shine!
